Classroom Assignments – School Year 2020 – 2021

Dear Wyngate Families:

Welcome to a new school year.  The Wyngate staff is excited to meet you and your family albeit virtually initially. As we prepare for the start of the new school year, we are pleased to be able to provide homeroom information in advance of our normal timeline in an effort to allow you more time to make arrangements for our virtual only start to the 2020-21 school year for the first semester.

In doing so, I ask you to be mindful of the time, effort, and consideration that goes into the development of classes each school year. Classroom teachers, specialists, and other staff members spend countless hours reviewing multiple data sources to ensure that all classes are balanced.  While we know many of you will be excited to reach out to your child’s teacher, I want to remind you that teachers are ten month employees and do not work over the summer.  They return to work to begin to prepare for the school year on August 24th.  Please know that they are eager to meet you and your child during our Sneak a Peek event on August 28th.  Additional information regarding this event will come under separate cover.

Please use the link below to determine your child’s homeroom teacher assignment for the upcoming school year. Grade levels are tabs at the bottom of the Google Sheet.  Students are listed alphabetically.

A Message from the PTA:

Wyngate Wildcats!

This week really is the kickoff of back to school season.  We had a robust town hall yesterday with lots of good details about the return to school.  Thanks to the many parents who joined, and of course to Mr. Wiebe, Ms. Chan and Mrs King.  You can find a recording HERE.

Typically there are many ways for parents to make connections with other families in their child(ren)’s classes— kindergarten play dates, sneak a peak days, etc.  As we know, NOTHING about this year is typical. 🙂

The school isn’t permitted to share families’ email addresses and the PTA’s digital and print directory won’t be up and running for several weeks. We know how important it is (especially this year) for families to make connections and build class communities, so we are attempting to build a temporary email directory for each class.

We encourage you to complete this voluntary form to get connected with other families in your children’s class. A liaison from your class will create an email distribution list so that you can communicate with each other. Please be patient as we pull this together.

Thank you!!
